Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when performed by a registered practitioner. All chiropractors at Vitality Chiropractic are registered with AHPRA and undergo thorough assessment before any treatment. We always explain what we're doing and obtain your consent.

What should I expect at my first chiropractic appointment?

Your first visit includes a detailed health history consultation, a postural and spinal assessment, and a clear explanation of our findings. We'll discuss a personalised treatment plan and may begin treatment during the same visit if appropriate.

What is the difference between a chiropractor and a physiotherapist?

Both chiropractors and physiotherapists treat musculoskeletal conditions. Chiropractors have a particular focus on the spine, nervous system, and the relationship between spinal health and overall body function. Physiotherapists tend to focus more broadly on rehabilitation and exercise therapy. In many cases both can help, and the right choice depends on your specific condition.

How many appointments will I need?

This varies depending on the nature and duration of your condition. After your initial assessment, we'll give you an honest estimate of the care needed to achieve your goals. We don't lock you into long plans. We reassess regularly and adjust as you progress.

Do you treat children?

Yes. We offer gentle chiropractic assessments and care for children, including infants and teens. Techniques used for children are specifically adapted, being very gentle and age-appropriate. We take the time to make children and parents feel comfortable.

Is parking available at the clinic?

We have private on-site parking with 6 bays. Street parking on Flinders Street and nearby streets is also available. We're also accessible by public transport.

Massage Therapy

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between remedial and sports massage?

Remedial massage addresses general musculoskeletal dysfunction including muscle tension, injury recovery, and chronic pain. Sports massage is specifically oriented towards athletic performance and recovery, with a focus on muscles and movement patterns used in sport.

Do I need a referral for massage?

No referral needed. You can book directly online or by calling us.

Can I claim massage on my health fund?

Many private health funds cover remedial massage under extras cover. Check your specific policy for eligibility and rebate amounts. We have HICAPS for on-the-spot claiming.

How often should I have a massage?

This depends on your goals. For acute issues, fortnightly sessions may be helpful initially. For maintenance and general wellbeing, monthly sessions suit many clients.
